Event date: Saturday, 05/17/2025 - 10:30 AM

Destination: Osaka Japanese Steakhouse, 4290 Co Rd 52 A, Helena, AL 35080

(Saturday Lunch ride to Osaka Japanese Steakhouse in Helena)

Ride Information: This “Optimist” ride departs from, and returns to, HoD (weather permitting). It is termed an “Optimist Ride” because we going to be optimistic that the rain will hold off mid-day Saturday and we should have a good 8+ hour window of nice weather in which to ride! The rider's meeting will be at 10:30 AM. KSU will follow. The purpose of this ride is to “Ride and Have Fun” (as Big G. would say) predominately exploring two of Shelby County’s best back roads, Highway 17 and Highway 10/Marvel Rd and ending up at to one of our dear friend Rick Glover’s favorite restaurants, Osaka Japanese Steakhouse in Helena for lunch! All current HOG chapter members are welcome.

Ride Theme: “Highway 17 Optimist Ride on the 17th (aka Saturday Lunch ride to Osaka)”

Ride Plan: The ride will cover approximately 69 miles (+/-) with one break (TBD) in route to our lunch stop at Osaka. The route will take 35, 33, and 52 from HOD through Helena to Highway 17 down through Montevallo to Highway 25 to Highway 10, returning to Highway 17 to Osaka, then back to HOD after lunch (weather permitting). The ride time is approximately 2 hours with one planned stop (TBD).
