Fried Chicken Friday Ride to Champy's – Departs HOD

Ride Information: This ride departs from HoD. The rider's meeting will be at 10:00 AM. KSU will follow. Given it has been a rainy week and is forecasted to be a rainy weekend, we thought it would be nice to squeeze in an extra weekday lunch ride on Friday! The purpose of this ride is to “Ride and Have Fun” (as Big G. would say), exploring some back roads in Shelby County and ending up at to Champy's Famous Fried Chicken in Alabaster to enjoy their “world famous” fried chicken for lunch! All current HOG chapter members are welcome.
Ride Theme: “Fried Chicken Friday Ride to Champy's”
Ride Plan: The ride will cover approximately 61 miles (+/-) with no breaks to our lunch stop at Champy’s. The route will take Oak Mountain Trail from HOD to CR 52 to HWY 11, 36, 69, to 47 through Columbiana to Montevallo via HWY 25, and then north on Salem Rd and HWY 17, working over to Champy’s via 1st Avenue West (or Kent Dairy). The ride ends at Champy’s in Alabaster.

Road Captain(s): Paul D. 205-799-8002 (As with all rides, remember to arrive on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a full fuel tank. You must present your current HOG membership card. Rain cancels the ride. Allow yourself enough time for personal needs (restroom, socializing, etc.).
Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member. All guests must sign an event release. Be aware, all rides and events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.
Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends and the individual HOG member. Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior. Heart of Dixie Chapter #1590 does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs before or during a riding event* and does not furnish alcohol at Chapter rides. Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride. Riders using alcohol or drugs while riding will be asked to leave the ride. It is the responsibility of each Template Chapter member to support the consistent enforcement of this policy
