SATURDAY RIDE - MT. CHEAHA - DEPARTS HoD

Event date:
Sat, 11/18/2023 - 9:45am

Hey, don’t forget my ride to Mt Cheaha via Talladega for lunch and Kylumga Covered Bridge is tomorrow leaving at 9:45 am after the riders meeting. I plan to have breakfast at Bama Burgers around 8:15ish am if anyone is interested in joining me.

The Auburn game doesn’t start until 3 pm and you should be home for that – The Alabama game is at 11 am so be sure to set your DVR, plus it will be replayed about a half a dozen times over the weekend.

The weather will be a little cool in the am, but great riding weather in the pm – looking forward to seeing y’all there – the leaves should be in top form and we need to take advantage of these dry days!!

See you tomorrow!

John

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OK let’s change it up a little – I know it’s a Saturday ride, but you can record the games and watch them later at your convenience.  This ride has three components: a covered bridge and park, a restaurant, and Mt Cheaha.  Do I have your interest?  We’ll meet at HoD – rider meeting at 9:25 am and KSU at 9:30. The ride is approximately 100 miles one way, and the return depends on how you choose to go. It will be mostly back roads with a little bit of 280 and 21. We’ll ride to Childersburg and visit Kymulga Covered Bridge and Grist Mill Park – we’ll stop and see the sights – you can walk across the bridge, but you can’t ride across it. Next, we’ll ride up to Talladega for lunch at the Stampede SteakHouse. After lunch we’ll ride up to Mt. Cheaha State Park via the back way, which is a winding large one lane road, that has been resurfaced and it’s a fun ride with great scenery. After we reach the state park the ride is technically over, and we’ll discuss the numerous routes home after taking in the scenery. Please call me if you have any questions - remember full tank and empty bladder and no matter where you go there you are. Hope to see y’all come out.
Please text me if you’re going – thanks. ** "If you are a veteran you are invited to ride at the front of the group in order to honor your service.” **
